Charles WOODWARD Obituary

EDENTON, N.C. - Charles Richard Woodward, 71, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at V.A. Medical Center, Hampton, Va.
Richard attended Waynesboro High School before moving to Hampton. He served in the Air Force for four years. Richard worked at the Newport News Shipyard early in his career and went on to become a quality control inspector for Solar Turbines. He traveled extensively for work and lived in many places including The Philippines, Singapore, Houston, Texas, Huntsville, Ala., Daytona Beach, Fla., and Edenton, N.C.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Capt. George Avis Woodward Jr. and Beulah Craig Woodward; and his sister, Jeanne Ulisse.
Survivors include his two children, Richard Mark Woodward and Karen Jill Woodward Cox and her husband, Robert, all of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Christopher Mark Woodward and Sydney Noel Cox both of williamsburg; his sister, Barbara Woodward Lewis and her husband, Robert of Newport News; his brother-in-law, Antonio Ulisse, and his aunt, Ann C. Woodward, both of Newport News; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
The Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Jerry G. Jutrus at noon Wednesday at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Peninsula Memorial Park with military honors.
