We are feeling both sadness and relief after a wonderful funeral service today for Woody. The family really pulled together and made these past several days quite special. The Army, particularly Chaplain Smith and the Honor Guard, and Carter Funeral Home performed wonderfully and we would also like to thank the Newport News Police Department for their assistance in getting us through the city without a glitch.

May the Woody family take comfort in knowing that SFC Woody was a champion of liberty and honor. I pray the he may now rest in peace, confident that the ideals for which he fought will live on forever. "All the way", SFC Woody, Airborne, all the way.
