On behalf of the USS STERLET SS392 Association we offer our prayers and comfort to the children of Chief Davis and his family. He served aboard the Sterlt in 1950-52 and was on board to recommission her after her mothballing in 1948. They made the movie Submarine Command on her with William Holden, William Bendix and Nancy Olsen.
We will honor him during our next reunion in November 2011 during our Tolling of the Bells for our departed crew. He also served on the Ronquil, Spearfish, Sea Raven, Tunny, Robert E. Lee. "Atention on Deck" Chief Davis has assumed the watch as he enters his Eternal Patrol.
