Christopher Karban Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Christopher Karban, of Williamsburg, passed away on April 11, 2010, at the age of 27.
Christopher attended Gahanna High School, where he was the captain of the hockey team. He went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 2004. Christopher served as a firefighter with the James City County Fire Department for five years. He enjoyed of the camaraderie of his fellow firefighters.
Christopher is survived by his parents, Douglas and Paula Karban of Richmond, Va.; his brother, Kevin and wife, Katherine, of Toledo, Ohio; his niece and nephew, Benjamin and Alexandra; several aunts and uncles; as well as his grandparents, Robert Karban Sr. and wife, Mary, and Marion Peightel.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ross Peightel.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at New Town United Methodist Church, 5209 Monticello Ave, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Chris to the James City County Fire Department, 300 McLaws Circle, Suite 200, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
