Clifford L. JOHNSON Sr.

ACHILLES - Clifford Louis Johnson Sr., age 81, died May 21, 2010 at his home surrounded by family.
Clifford was a Navy veteran, serving from 1948 to 1954, and retired from Langley Air Force Base in 1975, as an Aircraft Mechanic. He was a member of Botetourt Masonic Lodge: AF and AM, No. 7, Gloucester and Loyal Order of Moose: Lodge No. 886, Gloucester. He enjoyed country music, NASCAR Racing, Redskins football and gardening, especially the large tomatoes he grew. He was a special man to everyone who knew him and will always be remembered.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Miriam Johnson; son, Clifford L. Johnson Jr. and wife, Donna; daughters, Vicki Ellinger and Debra Ellinger; grandson, Joshua Adam Johnson; sister, Nannie Allen; brother, Lawrence Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
