Clinton JACKSON Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Clinton Lee Jackson Jr., 65, entered into his eternal home on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010.
He was born April 6, 1945, to the late Clinton L. Jackson Sr. and Marion Wallace Jackson. Clinton was retired from the College of William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg and was a former member of St. John's Baptist Church. He had a caring and courageous personality, but he could be stern when he needed to be and he said "what he meant, and meant what he said." He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends. "First step, take a deep breath, you don't need a reason why – even angels learn to fly."
He is survived by his children, Trudy Jackson Thorne and husband, William M., Clinton Lee Jackson III and wife, Stephanie, Tyrone DeWayne Jackson and wife, Tomeka, Danielle Simone Jackson; former wife, Thomasine Lewis; grandchildren, Cordarrell, JaRon, Marcus, Corey, Jamal, Cameron, Treyon and Taemon, sisters, Frances Parker, Stella Hill; brother, Lorenzo Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. David Spratley will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at St. John's Baptist Church, Williamsburg. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Following the interment, repast in the church fellowship hall.

Danielle,
I was so sadden when I heard Lee had passed, I first call Pumpkin and asked how you were; as I know you are Daddy's Little Girl. I remember all of those nights when we were young (you too young to remember) staying with our Aunt Alice and Lee, those were the good old days as they had everything in that house we wanted down to making our own sodas. I think it was finally clear to them we were coming to Williamsburg every weekend to hang with guys next door and down the street. Lee would come in from work; as we all knew he was a man of few words and give us that smile, we were all scared of him because he was so tall and big; but once we got that smile that was our relief.

May God watch each of you during this time and know Lee was suffering and told you he was tired and wanted to go home so when that day came and God said suffer no more my child come home with me to rest, he sent one of his precious Angeles down from Heaven closed Lee's eyes and said Peace be Still.

Trudy, Main, Tyrone, Dani, and the entire family,
Lee fought the good fight and is now fighting on the battlefield with our Lord. Lee was a joy to be around and had a smile that lit up the room. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. He will continue to live on through you his children. God Bless you all.

Danielle when I read this it reminded me of you,
Dad its been only 2 days since
God and His Angels called you away.
Oh how the Angels rejoiced as you walked
Through those Pearly Gates that day !

Dad when they said you were going to die
I refused to believe it could be true.
How could I allow myself to even
Imagine saying goodbye to you.

Dad you were an Angel here on earth
I learned so very much from you.
You were so gentle and so kind your
Smile would always see me through.

You taught me how to love unconditionally
And how to be my very best in all I do.
You gave your all to God and me
Never once stopping to think about you.

You were more than a father you were my
Best friend and a great listener too.
Oh how I miss our special talks, and
All the fun things we used to do.

Dad, I can never say goodbye to you,
Because I could never bear the pain.
Instead I say I love you Dad,
Until we meet again.

Clinton and family, we are very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He was of my generation and way too young to die. A man has a special bond with his father and is never without him. I'm sure you will think of him often. Treasure the times you had together and the parts of him that still live in you. May GOD be with you and your family.

Daddy you are in a better place. May the Lord now wrap his arms around us here and grant us his peace and mercies.

When I laid there beside you,
Could you feel me there?
My arms were wrapped around you,
And I was stroking your hair.

I was talking about all the good times,
For me they were every single day.
I wanted you to feel love and comfort,
And happy in some way.

I watched your every breath,
And prayed that each one wasn't your last.
The time we got to share together,
Went by too quick...Too fast.

I wanted you to wake up,
Please Dad...Open your eyes.
Tell me this is a nightmare,
And not our goodbyes.

As your last breath grew closer,
We laid there peacefully together.
My heart continually breaking,
Because I wanted you forever.

Then there it was,
Your final breath of air.
I didn't want to believe it,
This is so cruel and not fair.

I held your beautiful face,
And prayed you'd breath again.
I wasn't ready for you to go,
I couldn't admit that this was the end.

But then I realized that you were now in peace, And not suffering anymore.
You were beginning the life of an Angel,
And your body would no longer be sore.

I held you close and squeezed you tight,
And tried to say goodbye.
I've lost my Dad and my number one best friend,
All my heart could do is cry.

I slowly got up,
I wanted so much to stay.
I leaned over and gave you one more kiss,
It was so hard to walk away.

Dad you are my entire world,
And I miss you so very much.
I wish I could feel your loveable cuddle,
And your soft and gentle touch.

But for now I have to wait,
Until we meet again.
You will always be in my heart and thoughts,
My dear Dad and best friend.

Always and Forever,
Our hearts will always touch.
Always and Forever,
Your baby girl loves you so very much.

Rest now daddy your'e in a better place.
(Love You, Danielle)

God looked around his garden,
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this Earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never,
Get well on Earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered,"Peace by Thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

Rest now Lee we shall meet again.
