Corine GARY Obituary
She retired from the Newport News School system after nearly 22 years of service as a Cafeteria Worker. Corine was a member of Walter's Temple AME Church, where she served faithfully for 35 years. She served in church ministries such as the Usher Board and Church Choir.
Over the years, Corine opened up her home to many people in need of help and developed lifetime friendships. She always provided an environment of love, sharing, delicious food, fun and spice to everyone's life!
Corine was preceded in death by her son, Phillip 'Phil' Barno.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Kenneth Rich; her granddaughter, Sallie Carter; three grandchildren, Paris, Genesis and Kanye of Newport News, Va.; brother, Eddie (Elizabeth) Johnson of Hampton, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Va., with the Rev. Christopher C. Carter, officiating.

To the family: I am sorry to hear of your loss of your wondeful aunt. I am so sorry to have lost such a wonderful friend. Ms. Corine was a wonderful person.She would do anything for anybody and was always there for anyone of her family, friends and anyone who needed her help. She may be gone but will never be forgotten. I will miss you Ms. Corine love you very much.
