To all of Dan's loved ones: Dan was such a wonderful young man. He has been a part of "OUR" family for as long as I can remember. My son's Jason and Chris Hartz were very close to Dan, he even lived across the street from me( on Edgewood Dr.in Hampton) with my son, Jason . I loved that young man like he was one of my own. He would come over sometimes and hang out at our house and he was such a pleasure to be around. He was so proud to be a daddy, and could light up a room with his smile. It is just so unbelievable that he is gone, but he will NEVER be forgotten. He will always live on in the memories of all of us who's lives he touched. He will be sorely missed though. He was a good friend to my kids, and I will always have a special place in my heart for him.

I knew Dan since we were little kids in Sunday School together at Trinity Lutheran. He was always luminous, and his smile infectious. His uplifting energy affected everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. I can honestly say that I cannot remember a time that I was in his presence that I was not smiling.
My heartfelt prayers are with Dan's family and friends at this time.

Ok so we had this ditch club under the bridge by Glendale pool and we always fought over who was gonna be the president and who would be the vice president. I actually went to that bridge this past summer for the first time in years and could not get over how small it was. To us it was soooo BIG...such an adventure. Dan you helped make up the wonderful memories of my childhood and you will be in my heart forever. I am so glad I got the chance grow up around you and your wonderful family. I can hear your dad whistle from across the neighborhood right now. I am also glad I had the privilege to meet your wonderful fiancé and beautiful little girl. We will all look out for them. Dan I know you are still with us and one day we will meet again my friend. My heart goes out to Dee and Al and all of Dan's loved ones and Dan don't worry...I will let you be the president:)

Dan's smile:
I will always remember the warmth in Dan's smile. With his head slightly bowed, and his bright, sparkling eyes looking up at me, he made me feel loved and respected.
Through my tears, I will try to not hold contempt for the drunken driver who took Dan's life...for Dee. Instead, I will promote efforts to eliminate drunk driving.
I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dan was a fantastic friend and just a wonderful, spirited, and caring person to know. Those of us who had the chance to be a friend were so fortunate and will never forget him. I remember him even in younger years when he was in scouts. We will miss you so much and love you with all of our hearts Dan. I know you're sitting with the angels watching down on us. God bless your family, our prayers are with you all.

We lived next door and Dan used to stop by with his latest catch, telling us all about his fishing adventures. From time to time, he and Kendall would stop by to deliver a picture or invite us to play Guitar Hero. Dan was always in such a great mood, so full of energy. I am so sorry for this loss. I've got a couple of pictures of him (with fish) - please email and I'll gladly send them.

Danny may have only been on earth for 29 years, I knew him for 24 1/2 of those years, but he lived a lifetime in those years. He lived each day to the fullest. As I told him the last time we got to speak to each other he was a big marshmellow with a beautiful smile. You are going to be missed by so many people. You may not have been my brother by blood, but you are as close as I will ever get to having a little brother. Love you!

To Mr. and Mrs. Klapperich and family,
I am lost for words and in shock this would happen to Dan for he has been through a lot it seemed growing up. It was just 2 weeks ago I spoke with him at the school while we waited for our kids and he was telling me all the stories of how he loved being a dad and you could tell, because all the stories he would tell seemed to light up his face while he told them. I am glad I met Dan and was able to have the memories that we shared growing up. He will be missed and I hope all the great stories of Dan will be shared to Kendall.
-Perhaps they are not the stars in the sky, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know they are with us.

I am so sorry for what a loss you have experienced. I can not imagine what I would do in your place. BUT, you two have set a great example of what we all should understand...it is not about us, it is about the one we have lost. He would be very proud and happy about your decisions involving all the events. As he looks down on us all, you two have made him very proud of the people your are. Stay strong and know that we all love you.

I will always remember the great times I shared with Dan in the Scouts up at Camp Chickhoaminy with summer camps and weekend camp outs. The stories from there would thrill his daughter and would make most people laugh. I hadn't seen Dan for 6 or 7 years and to find out about his passing has been shock to me and everyone else who has been blessed by his friendship.

Where to begin. Dan was a truly awesome guy. Once he was your friend, he was your friend forever. He had a smile and sense of humor that would brighten any mood. We worked with Dan for some time and continued to have some contact with him after he left National. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Our hearts are breaking for the family left behind. God will get you through. He brings us to these trials for a reason. Although that is sometimes hard to understand. It is a shame to lose such a wonderful person. You are in our thoughts and prayers

Dee and Al and other family and friends of Dan(or Danny as I knew him). Its been several years since we have been in touch and it breaks my heart that it is in this way. I remember baby Danny ,born only a few months after our Courtney and living across the street from one another. They were good buddies the first few years of their young lives. I remember the toddler years and up into the preschool years, the nursery at the bowling alley(and bowling with my dear friend,Dee), family excursions and just the fun of being neighbors and good friends. I would never have imagined this sadness. You all have always been in our memories and hearts and now our love and prayers are with you at a time that no parents should have to face. There are no words that can take away the pain but may you find a piece of comfort in knowing that others care. And may you feel peace that only God can bring ,knowing that one day you can see Dan again.

The last time I was with Dan we were on a date (when he asked me what I wanted for Valentines Day I told him I wanted a date). We both had a wonderful time that night. And I will cherish that memory forever! I told him that he didn't have a romantic bone in his body that night and he told me he is romantic because he was ordering fajitas for two, not one, not three but two! It made me laugh that night and it still brings a smile to my face right now, even when it's so hard to smile.
Dan, I love you so much and I always will. It's like I always told you...I love you Today, Tomorrow, Forever & Always, No matter what till the end of time! And we're not anywhere near the end x o x o x

I didn't know Danny on a personal level but i do know alot of his friends. My drummer , Zack Smith spoke very highly of Danny and with that said , he must have been a very cool dude. This is very unfortunate and I send my deepest condolences to his family. I'm a parent and i know this is going to be especially hard for his daughter. God will take care of everything.
