David DICKEY Obituary

GLOUCESTER - David Evan Dickey, 81, died Dec. 29, 2009.
He was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Maryland, to the late David E. Sr. and Vera Gordon Dickey. He served in the United States Army for four years, Air Force for eight years and was retired from Thompson Export. David loved his Harley, NASCAR, wood working and working on cars. He enjoyed music and his favorite music artist was Johnny Cash. He was devoted to his wife of 56 years, and son, and his most enjoyable time was that spent with his grandchildren.
He will be remembered lovingly and is survived by his wife, Jeanette Dickey; son, David E. Dickey III and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, David IV, Bryan, Jordan and Justin Dickey; sister, Sarah Shaffer; and brother, James D. Dickey
A celebration of life service, officiated by the Rev. W. Donald Ambrose, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dear David & family:
Your Dad was a wonderful man and a good Uncle. I remember him well and I know he will be missed. I loved his humor and his voice.
