David SLADE Obituary

HAMPTON - David L. Slade was born Oct. 24, 1947. He left this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Slade; and his grandson, Douglas Session.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Douglas Session of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Denae Mention of Newport News, Va.; two granddaughters; a grandson; a loving mother, Verneice Slade of Hampton, Va.; brothers, John Slade (Geraldine) of Meridan, Conn., Lloyd Slade of New Britain, Conn., Aaron Slade (Eartha) of Middletown, Conn., Keith Slade of Middletown, Conn.; and Alvin Bullups (Vincent) of Hampton, Va.; sisters, Mary Slade of Newport News, Va.; Joyce Lassiter (Samuel) of Middletown, Conn., Sandra Davis (Henry) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Brenda Pace of Hampton, Va., Deborah Slade of Hampton, Va., and Sybil Long (Willie) of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
'A Celebration of Life' service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, at First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, Va. The Slade family is receiving services of comfort at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Home, 4304 Victoria Blvd., Hampton. I so sorry that you left and went away but I no your in a better place you were a good friend to me and I'm going to miss you but I'll remember your good looks and pretty smile that will be forever and a day your in my thoughts and prayers wish I could be there to share my prayers today but I know your smiling down not shedding a tear God knows best he sent you all these years- Miss You FAVCAKE!
