Diane Nettles Obituary

HAMPTON - Diane Patricia Banks Nettles answered the Master's call on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sam Nettles Jr.; her mother, Mrs. Lola Mae Whitley Banks; two brothers, Willis Leon Banks and Dewey Stefon Banks.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Nettles Sr.; two daughters, Ladonna Banks and Tonya Nettles; father and stepmother, Willis and Ann Banks of Yorktown; five sisters, Bernadette Banks, Judy Spratley (James), Helen, and Ellen Banks, all of Newport News; and Cheryl White of New York; three brothers, Larry Banks of Norfolk, Roosevelt Banks, and Sherlock Banks, both of Hampton; eight grandchildren; four nieces; seven nephews; a host of extended family and friends.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today, Nov. 18, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, with funeral service to begin at 3 p.m., at the funeral home.

We are saddened at the loss of Diane. We attended James Weldon Johnson and York High together. She was incredibly funny and outgoing and didn't mind giving you a "piece of her mind." May God Bless her family.
