Doris JOHNSON Obituary
Mrs. Johnson was native of South Carolina, a former resident of Saluda, and was a Yorktown resident for four years.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Michelle Prince; and a granddaughter, Jade Swaim.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Va.

Donna and Jade:
What a beautiful message to your Mom. We were so sorry to hear of Ms. Johnson's passing. My mother (Elsie) use to work for her at Shaw's Jewelers in Coliseum Mall. She was truly a wonderful person, beautiful classy lady, loved to shop, so many words to describe her. My mother loved Ms. Johnson - she use to call your Grandmother to check on her and to see how your mother was. I remember the Antique Shop in Saluda. Your mother sent my mother a news clipping when she first opened.
That's a strong message you wrote to your mother and I know how wonderful she was to those who knew her so I can imagine what she was to you and Jade. Like you said, there will never be another DORIS JOHNSON. Oh how we wish our love ones could be with us forever in this life time. She will be with you forever in your heart. Take care and keep loving each other like your mother loved you both.

MY MOST DEAREST MAMA,
To start,I cant seem to believe that YOU are not here. Your Lovely Wonderful Life has to soon, In my eyes been taken away from Jade and I. And so many others who truly Loved YOU so very much.Oh My Darling Mama,YOU were always there for Jade and I, and I just cant quite accept that I wont see YOU ever again until It Is my time to be with YOU for eternity.I could write a book on all of the Magical,Precious,Loving,Great times that we had together.YOU are, and will always be the Love Of My Life,You & Jade.I now awake every day,and get ready to call YOU on the phone,like I did every single day,sometimes more than once ,often maybe three times a day. And to just know I can not talk to My Beautiful,Sweet,Understanding,Most Gorgeous,Best Mother I could ever be so blessed to have as my own.Well It Is just way to soon for me to be able to accept that.I know You will come to me as You always did In your own special way. You always made time for Jade and I. You were always doing for others, and always giving a part of yourself to someone In need .Many people will never even know that sweet precious person that I knew,we were so close and had a bond that no one could ever take away.You shall for always stay In my Heart ,My Mind ,& In My Soul as You always have My Loving Sweet Angel.There will never be another Doris Johnson. She was one of a kind.Such Beauty Is rarely ever seen In this life In which we live. To the ones left behind,well,we don't know now what to do ,quite where to go,or how to even begin to live without YOU My Darling Mama.I will never get over this.You were my everything. Donna & Jade
I am so saddened to hear of Doris's passing. She was my boss at Shaw's Jewelers back in the early eighties and we became good friends as well. We had lost touch over the years but I have always cherished the friendship we had. She was one of the kindess people I have ever known, always doing for others and giving of herself. She truly touched my life and I will always remember her fondly. I can picture her always beautiful smile. Please know I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.

I was so sad to learn of Doris' death. She was a customer of my typing service for 15 years. She was always very generous and thoughtful. I hope that you will find God's peace during this time.

My dear Donna and Jade,
I was so shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of your dear mother and grandmother. As you both know, I have been her dental hygienist for 25 years. Over those many years, we shared stories of our life and families and various events of our lives. We had a wonderful friendship which I will always treasure. Doris had a heart of gold and she was always busy with living. She seemed to possess so much energy. I hope you both know how very much she loved you. She always kept me informed about how you two were doing when I had not seen you for a while. Please always keep her memory close to your hearts. Your happiness and well-being were always her priority in life. Take care of each other, as she would have wanted you to do. I will always cherish my wonderful memories of Doris. She was truly a unique and classy lady, and I feel so blessed to have known her. You are both in my prayers.
