Echo Jones Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Echo Washington Jones peacefully answered the Master's call on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at his residence. His life began on June 5, 1932, the son of the late Otelia and Washington, Jones, of Spring Grove, Va.
He was a longtime resident of the area and retired from Colonial Williamsburg, after many years of service.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his son, Clyde Washington and his wife, April of Reno, Nev.; his daughter, Deion Jones-Coleman and her husband, Barry of Richmond; his grandson, Justin Coleman; his devoted friend, Ollie Drew; and all his other friends at the Blayton Building.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Whiting's Chapel, with the Rev. Ronald A. Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Jones may be viewed only in the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10 a.m., until the hour of his service. Mr. Echo, It's been a pleasure to know you. I'm so happy God gave me an opportunity to be in your life. I will miss coming to the Blayton Building everyday to care for you and to see all of the residents there. I know you're in a peaceful place now. I will never forget you and I know you're spirit is watching over everyone that truly loved you. God Bless you!

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Echo while working at the Sentry Food Mart. He visited daily and always had a smile on his face. I will miss Mr. Echo, but I know the Lord will enjoy his presence

I am going you miss you my friend. Always waiting with a smile on your face asking if there was anything that you could for me. I am glad that I was able to return the favor.
