Edna CHRISMAN Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Edna Proctor Chrisman, 91, widow of Isaac Casper Chrisman, passed away on Nov. 30, 2010.
She was born in Bath County, Va., to the late Edith Bowman Proctor and Ashby Gibson Proctor. Edna was actively involved in Hidenwood Presbyterian Church for many years, and after retirement, volunteered at the Mariner's Museum in Newport News.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Casper Chrisman; her daughter, Judith Chrisman Smith; and her brother, Louis Kenton Proctor.
She is survived by her son-in-law, William (Pete) Heber Smith and his fiancEe, Trina Caulfield. Pete was Edna's caregiver. Other survivors are her two grandchildren, William Chrisman Smith and his wife, Kirsten, and Elizabeth Smith Arnold and her husband, Albert; her great-grandchildren, Alexandria Smith, Connor and Ethan Arnold; her two sisters, Jean Proctor Robinson and husband, John, and Norma Proctor Lanier and husband, William; many nieces and nephews; her one cousin, Marilyn Proctor Freck and her husband, Jerry.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. William Lamont. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
