Edward REIDELL Obituary

MATHEWS - On Sept. 27, 2010, Edward C. Reidell was called by his Heavenly Father to come home.
On June 27, 1932, Ed was born to William and Katherine Kelley Reidell of Buffalo, N.Y. He was raised in Buffalo, where he finished his apprenticeship in Machine-Tool & Die making. Ed was drafted into the Army at the beginning of the Korean Conflict and gave 22 years of his life serving his country. Ed served in Germany and two tours in Vietnam, having seen battle there with the 1st. Calvary Division. He was owner and operator of Reidell Machine and Tool, in Newport News, for more than 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine Reidell; his grandmother; and his former wife, Carol Reidell.
From this union of marriage, he is survived by his son, Michael (Amy) of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Chris of Atlanta, Ga., and Trish O'Kelly (Johnny), also of Atlanta. Ed met and fell in love with Quilla "Dean" McBride and married her in 1984. Dean brought to this marriage three sons, Lamar McBride (Val) of Grabill, Ind., Steve McBride (Vickie) of Hampton, Va., and Larry McBride (Kathy) of Poquoson, Va. He also leaves behind to love and cherish his memory 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many friends, including all of his adopted church family at Westville Baptist Church, Mathews, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Westville Baptist Church, Mathews, Va. Interment will be private.
