Edward EASLEY Obituary

YORKTOWN - Edward Francis Easley, 75, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010.
Mr. Easley was a native of Pennsylvania and a Peninsula resident since April 1964. He served 10 years in the Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed working on cars and building his own home. He was a man who never met a stranger. Ed's love for life was derived from one thing, family. Everything he was, everything he did, was for his family. Always the first person to assist a friend, neighbor or stranger, only asking for a handshake as he said, "Happy to help my friend."
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles E. Easley; his mother, Theresa Marcella Easley; his father, Charles B. Easley; his stepmother, Emma Grace Easley; a brother, John Allen Easley; and a sister, Rachel Jack.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Lelia M. Easley; a daughter, Theresa Stevens and her husband, Woody; three sons, Richard D. Easley and his wife, Denise, Edward B. Easley and James Daniel Easley; a brother, Charles D. Easley and his wife, Marty; three grandchildren, Natsha Ulbricht, Kayla Stevens, Craig Tyler Nurney; a sister-in-law, Lois Johnson; and his extended family Walt and Laurie Ulbricht and Allen and Michelle Godshall and their daughters, Brooke and Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. If there's anything we can help you with please don't hesitate to ask. We are your neighbors at 1019 Dare Rd. I don't think I had the pleasure of meeting you and your husband except if you came to one of my garage sales.

I was sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Our families were friends starting back in the late 60's. Ed was always very friendly. Whenever we would pass on the road, we would honk and holler "Hello". I will keep your family in my prayers
