Elizabeth SURFACE Obituary

FISHERSVILLE - Elizabeth Ann (Jackson) Surface, 63, wife of Forest A. Surface of 559 Kiddsville Road, Fishersville, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Augusta Health.
She was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Newport News, a daughter of the late Marshall C. Jackson and Evelyn (Smith) Jackson Rowe.
Mrs. Surface was previously employed by V. S. D. B. as a house parent in Battle Hall.
She was a member of Annex United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis E. Stilley Jr. and Daniel W. and Jennifer A. Hite, all of Staunton; a daughter, Kristina M. Surface and her fiancE, Jordan L. Turner of Williamsburg; and special friends, Faye Davis, Connie Losh, and Carolyn Spangler.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Louise Desco; and a niece, Tonia M. Owens.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Annex United Methodist Church, Staunton, by the Rev. Russell L. Heinrich. Family burial will follow at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dave Davis, Johnny Lane, Larry Wills, Stacey McCray, Joe Siron, Chad Cash and James Lafon. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of V. S. D. B.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Henry Funeral Home, 1030 West Beverley Street, Staunton, Va.
Memorials may be made to the Roofing Fund of Annex United Methodist Church, 1570 New Hope Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
