Elizabeth Wilson Obituary

HAMPTON - Elizabeth Kearney Wilson, 98, was called home to rest on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009.
A native of Warrenton, N.C., she was a resident of Hampton for 10 years; a member of First Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., and Raleigh Barbers Association. She was a barber and retired in Sept. 1993 after 60 years of self-employment.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R. Jerome Wilson; four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Joycelyn C. Davenport (Earl) of Hampton; two grandchildren, Avise Skinner (Wayne) of Anderson, Ind., and Antoinette Ford (Antoine) of Hopewell, Va.; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary K. Branche of Chesapeake, Va.; other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will begin at noon Saturday, Dec. 12, at First Baptist Church, 101 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, N.C.
