Ellen Buckner Obituary
Born Oct. 14, 1911, in Lawrenceville, Va., she attended college in Raleigh at the Conservancy of Music and graduated with a degree in Journalism. She taught piano and dance, and worked at Eastern State and CBN with Tammy and Jim Baker.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Williams Jr., of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Kerry Williams, of Murrieta, Calif., and Kim Zidenberg, of Poquoson; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Allen of Henderson, Nev., Josh Zidenberg, of Charlottesville, Va., Brodie Williams and Jack and Tanner Williams, all of Murrieta, Calif., and Max Barrett, of Poquoson.
The family will receive friends from 11 to noon Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Poquoson Baptist Church by the Rev. John Pouchat. A funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Poquoson Baptist Church Building Fund, 283 Wythe Creek Road, Poquoson, VA 23662.

My sweet Ms. Buckner,
Thank you for many years of your love which came straight from above. Never did a day go by without you sharing the love of Christ with someone. Prayers are going up for all of Ms. Buckners family and friends. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Douglas Jr - don't know if you remember me or not - but I sure remember you and your Mom. It is hard when we must part with a love one. I remember so many times at your home your Mom would play the pianao - and she could make it talk. I have many good memories of your family - and I know you must have lots more. Prayers are with you and your family.
