Ellen GRANT Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Ellen Huff Grant died in her home as the sun set on Nov. 27, 2009, with her family by her side.
She was born on June 1, 1943, and raised in Monaca, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Chester E. Huff and America M. Huff. On Dec. 7, 1970, she married her husband, Arthur, and traveled extensively with him and their children as an Army family.
A tireless worker, devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she will be missed by her family and friends around the country. Ellen was very active at church, as well as in local gardening and book clubs. The sick, elderly and weak appreciated the excellent meals she cooked for them, as did her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; son, Mark and his wife, Kara of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Leanne and her husband Erik of Williamsburg; as well as by her brother, Tom; four grandchildren, Ethan, Sam, Kelsey and Emily; and her extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 13, at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Road in Williamsburg.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
