Eloise THOMAS Obituary
A native of Mathews, she was the oldest member of the Antioch Baptist Church, Susan, Va., where she served as a Deacon and was the past chair of the Women's Ministry, a member of the former Second Senior Choir, and the Usher Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Thomas; and a son, Robert E. "Ted" Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Ann Thomas, Shirl Thomas, Joan Taylor (Thomas), Burnette Boddie (Vic), Richard Thomas (Susan) and John K. Thomas Sr. (Dawn); 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010, at noon at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends at Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Antioch Road, Susan, Va., from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010.

We are so sorry for your loss. We know you were very close to your mother and took care of her for many years; that makes it even more difficult to cope with her passing. It is so hard to lose a MOM! Miss Ann, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. There's no other loss quite like it, but, hopefully, you may find comfort in knowing that while it is so hard for us left behind, she is at peace and rest with the Lord. Blessed-happy-to be envied- are the dead who die in the Lord. They are people who during their earthly life believed in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. When they exchange the temporal for the eternal, their work is done. They finally have rest. All the troubles and tensions of their earthly existence are behind them.
