Elton KORNHAUS Obituary
He was a lifelong resident of the peninsula and was a member of Huntington Mennonite Church. Elton enjoyed the simple things in life including the warmth of the sun being with family and fishing. He also enjoyed being the first to relax in Cristy's hot tub, woodworking and the 'Redskins'.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cristy Elizabeth 'Princess' Stacy and her partner, Jeffrey Willams, both of Virginia Beach; his son, Bryan 'Buddy' Harrison Kornhaus of Gloucester; his father, Benjamin Kornhaus; two sisters, Wanda Kornhaus of Newport News and Carrie Kraus and her husband, Tom and their four children, Erika Kraus, Heidi Sankey and husband, Brynn, Michael Kraus and Peter Kraus all of Lindale, Texas; and his close friend and former wife, Deanna Lynn Kornhaus and her husband, Pete Kackley of Gloucester.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria J. Kornhaus; and one son, Dean Bryan Kornhaus.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in the Huntington Mennonite Church with the Rev. Eric S. Musser officiating. Burial will follow in the Warwick River Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kornhaus Family, c/o Huntington Mennonite Church, 785 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601.
