Ernest HASKETT Obituary

DENDRON - Ernest Lee Haskett, 85, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at McGuire Veterans Medical Center in Richmond, Va.
A native of Surry County, Va., he retired from Allied Chemical and was a member of First Baptist Church Dendron. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Airforce.
He was the son of the late Ida Mae Haskett; and widower of Annie Bell Virginia Haskett. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Haskett; two sons, Nelson and Larry Haskett; and a brother, Howard Haskett Sr.
He leaves to treasure his memories, his daughter, Connie Spratley (Richard) of Newport News, Va.; three sons, the Rev. Lloyd Haskett (Thelma) of Vienna, Ga., Alton Haskett (Rev. Shan) of Plainfield, N. J., and Douglas Haskett of Haynesville, Va.; a devoted sister, Gloria Jean Allen (Rev. Lewis Allen) of Waverly, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, devoted cousin, Eva Jones of Dendron; devoted friend and driver, Thomas Courton of Dendron; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Pocahontas Temple Baptist Church, 10234 Branch Street, Wakefield, with the Rev. Lewis Allen, pastor, officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Bagley Family Cemetery in Carsley. Viewing and visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight, at the funeral home. Mr. Haskett will also be viewed at the church, Sunday, one hour prior to the service.
