Dear Ed,
Evelyn will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate person to me. All of the time I spent at your home in Seminole, FL as a young boy created great memories. I can't imagine your great loss but her life should be celebrated as she has reached the shelter of the lord.
God bless you and your family,

DEAR ED AND FAMILY,
MY NAME IS MARIANNE KUNNEMANN AND I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO SPEND THE PAST 3 WINTERS LIVING NEXT DOOR TO ED AND EV.
I NEED TO SPEND THE WINTERS IN THE KEYS TO GET A BREAK FRON THE SEVERE DIBILITATING CHRONIC PAIN, AS WELL AS THE PULMONARY HYPERTENSION, I SUFFER FROM AT HOME IN NEW JERSEY, BUT FIND GREAT RELIEF FROM IN THE KEYS. I WAS 51 MY FIRST WINTER SEASON OF 2008 AND MY HUSBAND,TOD, HAD TO RETURN HOME TO NJ TO WORK. I DIDN'T NEED A CAR, BECAUSE I USED MY BIKE TO GO TO THE SHOPPING CENTER. I WAS SO HOMESICK AND A BIT AFRAID TO STAY BY MYSELF. MY MOTHER HAD DIED ONLY A FEW MONTHS BEFORE FROM A LONG BATTLE WITH ALZHEIMER'S AND I WAS STILL GRIEVING AND FRAZZLED,TOO. EVELYN BEFRIENDED ME AND TOOK ME UNDER HER WING. SHE MADE SURE I LEFT THE CAMPGROUND OCCASSIONALLY FOR A LOVELY LUNCH TOGETHER. EVEN THOUGH HER KNEE, BACK, AND OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS WOULD BECOME BOTHERSOME AND MAKE HER VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FROM PAIN, SHE RARELY LET ANY OF THESE THINGS GET THE BETTER OF HER. EV'S HOME WAS ALWAYS IMPECCABLY NEAT AND CLEAN, SHE WAS AN EXTRORDINARY COOK, AND, SHE ALWAYS LOOKED LIKE A "MILLION BUCKS"!
WE WENT FOOD SHOPPING, RAN ERRANDS, AND EV SHARED HER FAVORITE PLACES IN THE KEYS WITH ME. WE BECAME VERY GOOD FRIENDS OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS. I REMEMBER HOW EXCITED SHE WAS WHEN TWO OF HER OFFSPRING AND THEIR FAMILIES VISITED. SHE WAS SO VERY PROUD OF ALL HER CHILDREN AND I SOON FELT AS IF I'D KNOWN EV AND THE REST OF YOU ALL MY LIFE.
I LOVED TO HEAR HER GREET ME WITH,"HEY, GIRL, HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY? GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE, DO YOU WANT TO ESCAPE FOR A BIT AND GRAB A BITE AT THE GARDEN OF EATIN'?"
EV STARTED TO REFER TO ED AS "DAD" WHEN DISCUSSING THE MANY ACTIVITIES THEY ENJOYED. SHE SPOKE OF HER PAST WORK EXPERIENCES AND HER PAST ANTIQUE BUSINESS AND PRESENT HOME IN WILLIAMSBURG FONDLY. EV TALKED ABOUT HER FAMILY ALL THE TIME! HER FAMILY MEANT, NOT JUST THE WORLD, BUT EVERYTHING TO HER. EV TALKED ABOUT EACH MEMBER WITH SUCH DEVOTION, LOVE, AND LOYALITY.
EV INTRODUCEED ME TO PIRATE'S NIGHT, BINGO, SHUFFLE BOARD, AND THE DELICACIES OF POT LUCK SUPPERS. NOBODY MADE JAMBALAYA LIKE EV!
EVELYN WAS A KIND, COMPASSIONATE, AND GENEROUS WOMAN WITH A HEART THE SIZE OF THE UNIVERSE. SHE LOVED ED WITH A DEEPNESS AND PASSION THAT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE. I CANNOT YET BRING MYSELF TO IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT EV IN IT. GOD MUST HAVE MISSED HER DREADFULLY TO HAVE BROUGHT HER HOME, TO HEAVEN, SO SOON.
I WILL CHERISH MY MEMORIES OF EVELYN FOREVER. SHE WAS AN HONORABLE, CARING, LOVING, WITTY, INTELLGENT, AND MARVELOUS WOMAN AND FRIEND. EV DIDN'T HAVE A SELFISH BONE IN HER BODY.
EVELYN WIGLEY WAS ONE IN A MILLION
WITH MUCH LOVE,
MARIANNE and TOD KUNNEMANN

Dear Ed and family,
We were shocked to get the e-mail from Judy and Tom about Evelyn's passing.
We looked forward to seeing you both every winter in Key Largo. When my Mom was alive Eve would stop by everyday and talk with her. She took time to share a smile, a kind word to all.

My grandma was an amazing woman who loved her family very much. This is a difficult time for all, however we're blessed to have shared such wonderful memories with her, and those memories are comforting. I already miss rubbing off the smudge mark her lipstick would leave on my cheek after one of her many kisses. I love you Grandma!

Ed... The woman is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and
women and the love of children; who has filled her niche and accomplished her task; who leaves the world better than she found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best she had.
Evelyn was all this and more... her love for Family the best... she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
God's love and ours
