Dear Family of "Porgie",
Our deepest condolences to you all. He was a lovely person -- intelligent and thoughtful. I believe that Frank Deis was much inspired, and certainly encouraged, by his Uncle Frank. Porgie would call every once in a while to discuss biochemical and medical topics with him. Porgie always sent Christmas cards, and he was extremely kind and generous at the death of Bert Deis. His thoughtfulness meant so much to us of the family of Bert and Marie Hulcher Deis. We will always remember him fondly. I also remember the stories Marie used to tell of them playing together as children, especially on the old fire truck their father, Gus, had acquired.
Our sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love from Louise, Frank and Tom

Hi Mark and Alan: Lowell and I were also really so sad to hear of Porgie's passing. We are not going to be able to come down for his service today because we are all heading into exams, but our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Please let us know if we can help out in any way, and please stop by if you ever come up through south-central VA. We'll be thinking of you all through the Christmas season. Much love, Jane Deis and Lowell Frye, Lowell Charles and Alice
