Fred PAYNE Obituary

HAMPTON - Fred L. Payne departed this life on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1937, in Newport News, Va., where he attended Huntington High School. He worked for many years at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel and Kirk's Auto Glass and Safelite Auto Glass. He was a former member of Pandor Lodge #2.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Payne; his fathers, Freddie Scott and Percy Gatling; his sister, Doris Neal; and brothers, Samuel, Christopher and Waverly Payne.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Denise Payne; sons, Darnell Payne, Freddie Martin, Jervonne Harris and TarKara Harris; daughters, Valerie Clark, Shawn Jackson and Teresa Jackson; a sister, Gloria Jean Copeland; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr, Melvin Green and his staff, Sentara Hospice Team, Direct Home Health Care, Virginia Stokes, Estelle McDonald, Mary Williams, Patricia Harris and Tamika Boone.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at the Six House, 2003 Kecoughtan Road, Hampton, with the Rev, Chris Carter, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Viewing will be held at the Six House from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday and two hours prior to the service Saturday. Entombment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving guests at 1104 Parkside Ave, Hampton.

Hi Denise, sorry to hear of my cousin's passing. Really didn't know he had been sick. Good only picks the best flowers to put in his garden. Cousin Freddie was one of the beautiful ones.
