Gladys NICHOLSON Obituary
She was born and raised in Halifax County, N.C. She had been a resident of Newport News, Va., for 45 years.
Gladys retired from Burger King, Inc. (East End) after 32 years of service. She was affectionately known by co-workers and friends as 'Mrs. G.'
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lenora Harvey-Bachelor; and three brothers, Joe Willie, Luther and Jeremiah Bachelor.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Obadiah (O.B.) Nicholson; her son, Dwight O. Nicholson; sister, Lucille Lynch; brother, Isaiah Bachelor, both of Maryland; sisters-in-law, Doretha Nicholson of Newport News, Va., Corrine Daniels of North Carolina and Polly Bachelor of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Chapel. The Nicholson family is receiving services of comfort at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Home, 4304 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, (757) 728-0122. I remember working with you at Burger King back in 1988. You taught me how to make a whopper with and without cheese the proper way. I miss those old days but not as much as I going to miss you. God is taking care of you now.
