Gordon NOTVEDT Obituary

HAMPTON - Gordon Notvedt, 78, passed away in his home of lung disease on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010.
Gordon was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Fosston, Minn., and joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served for more than 20 years. In 1964, Gordon married Rita DeMomi of Vicenza, Italy, while serving overseas. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for the Newport News Public Library and later the Department of the Army, at Ft. Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; son, David; daughter, Mary and her husband, Gregory; three grandchildren, Joseph, Emma and Isabella, all of Hampton, Va.; brother, Glen Notvedt; and sister, Mary Ann McAllister, both of California; and one brother, Elmer Notvedt of Minnesota.
He will be privately interred in the Columbarium of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newport News. Arrangements handled by the Cremation Society of Hampton Roads, www.cremate.org View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
