Dear Family,
I have you in my prayers as we accept that Keith has moved on to the realm of the ancestors. He suffers no more and his spirit will live forever. He had the same quiet sense of humor like your dad and the kindness of your mother. All of you as a family have left a very positive and strong impression upon me.

To the Jenkins Family, my prayers go out to you on the loss of Keith. I graduated with him in 1968. Keith and I were voted most studious. I had no idea that he was teaching at the school where it all started. I would like to say to the students, keep pressing on and make Keith proud for all that he taught you. To the Family, be comforted by the knowledge that Keith made his mark on society, by his life. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Remember God is the ultimate source of our strength. Be blessed.

I remember going to school at Cms, and being in bad moods because i thought i would have my regular teacher there but when i saw Mr.Jenkins it made everything better, because although he was strict, he was always nice to us, and gave great advice to whom ever needed it. He really knew how to make us laugh and i will truely miss him on this 8th grade year at cms, because now i know Cms will never have a better sub than he was.

To the Jenkins Family, I worked with your loved one for many years in Newport News Public Schools as he substituted throughout the division. He was an old school educator and when he was in the classroom he was respected and talked many times about life with his students. He was a walking book of wisdom and knowledge. He will truly be missed. Be encouraged.

To the family of Mr. Jenkins,
I was asst. principal at Crittenden MS for 3 years, and worked closely with Mr. Jenkins. I even drove him home on occasion. My heart is heavy to hear that he is gone. I have to tell you that his dedication to the students, staff, and faculty was exemplary. We just knew that wherever Mr. Jenkins substitute taught, the class would be in good hands. Mr. Jenkins took his job very seriously as he would take home plans and teacher texts to plan for instruction the next day. Mr. Jenkins would also come to school events. Students and staff knew he genuinely cared for them. He always dressed for success with impeccable taste! I will miss him very much. He was a great man. I know the faculty and staff at Crittenden or wherever he went will remember and honor his memory.

To the family, my "Second" family,
Im so sorry that Uncle Keith has passed on. And though he had been ailing,it still seems surreal to me. He has been around my entire life, and I will really miss him and all his "stories". Everybody loved Uncle Keith, and I'm sitting here smiling just thinking about his quick wit,and remembering some of his wise tales. He was always the smartest man in the room and was always so loving towards me and my brother. I just can't believe I won't be seeing him anymore, and his presence will always be missed.
With love,
Wanda Royster Gattison

When the news came of the passing of Mr. Jenkins, my heart was heavy. He would always say we had known each other for 7 years, it seemed longer. He was a good person who had a "big heart" I'll cherish my memories of him. He always made me smile. I'm glad I had the opportunity to care for him at the VAMC (Dialysis) He loved to talk and so did I. We shared many different topics. I was happy when Mr. Jenkins and my husband met. They shared the same name "Keith" as he often joked me about. To Mr. Jenkins I was "Arnita" I'll never forget the advice, encouragment, stories, music, and laughter we shared to pass the time. Rest on Mr. Jenkins, you fought a good fight.
