Heather AMPOFO-ANTI Obituary
Heather was a teacher, art dealer, entrepreneur and community activist. She was the founder and president of Masakhani Center for International Arts and Culture. Heather will be missed by her family and many friends and associates.
She is survived by one brother, Gregory Clark of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and three sisters, Antionette Adams (Willie) of East Bruswick, N.J., Toxi Clark of Washington, D.C., and Jane Clark-Ashford (Edward) of Clinton, Md.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1500 Ninth Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

This is the day that the Lord hath made--let us rejoice and be exceedingly glad herein. Saying good-bye is so hard so I will simply say see you later my sister, my friend. As you make this final transition I wish you an abundance of love--the kind of love that you've shared with me and so many others--and I wish you peace that surpasses all understanding. You've been a rock and strong tower for so many and I know that you shall continue as one of our beautiful Angels and Ancestors. HEATHER WAS MY BEST FRIEND IN WHOLE WIDE WORLD, AS WE ALWAYS SAID. ALTHOUGH, WE DID NOT SEE OR SPEAK TO EACH OTHER FOR LONG PERIODS, WE NEVER LOST SITE OF EACH OTHER.
WE LAUGHED AND CRIED TOGETHER, WE SHARED OUR MOST INTIMENT SECRETS AND WE SHARED THE SAME BIRTH DATE.
IN FACT, HEATHER WAS MORE THAN A FRIEND, SHE WAS ONE OF MY GOD SENT ANGELS. SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE WHENEVER WITH WHATEVER I NEEDED THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES.
THIS IS A SAD DAY FOR ALL OF US, BUT KEEPING PERSPECTIVE, WE MUST THANK GOD FOR ALLOWING HER TO SHARE HER LIFE WITH US. SHE WAS TRULY A BLESSING.

To everybody who knew Heather, she was kind,cheerful, generous of spirit and a delightful person to know. I miss her so much, and can only imagine how much she's missed by her family. Heather's life and energy is still an amazing blast of light that continues to ensure safe passage, wonder and possibility for so many of us. The enthusiasm through which she and you embraced the world is a call to action and joy. This we felt when we first met the two of you in our home in Pasadena in 1990. Introduced by Marcia and Yvonne, our bond is forever!
Know that you are held tightly by those of us who love you and her. Alas, the mysteries of life surpass our understanding, but Heather's spirit will light our way.

In the book of Ecclesiastes God speaks about how He searched for a "great" man in the number of 1000. He found a "great" man but could not find a "great" woman.
Well, God allowed a "great" woman whose name was, is and will always be Heather to cross my path in this earthly walk.
Heather was just a person who touched your soul the moment she opened her mouth and immediately followed by that beautiful smile.
Heather dear, your physical presence will always be missed but your spirit will live forever.
To Kwabena, Toxi, Gregory, Tony, and Jane, God blessed you with the privilege of having a beautiful person in your lives. I know that you are missing her already giving orders (smile) but she was ready to make this transition and was at peace. So let's keep her spirit moving.
