Helen WEBSTER Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Helen Marie Webster, 83, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009.
Helen was a native of Oshkosh, Wis., and was a Peninsula resident since 1956. She attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown. She was an avid bowler, and bowled in two leagues, and loved playing bingo.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Ellner; and her husband, Gordon H. Webster; three brothers, Eddie, Dick and Harold Ellner; and a sister, Lorraine Knowblock; and special friend, Charlie Silver.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Gordon Webster and his wife, Sandra of Yorktown, James Edward Webster and his wife, Barbara of Newport News; two brothers, John Ellner and his wife, Jane, Jerry Ellner and his wife, Dorothy of Pelican Lake, Wis.; and a sister, Mary Jane Ellner Galica of Oshkosh, Wis. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason Wade Webster and his wife, Laura of Newport News, Holly Kristin Billeter of Yorktown, Jeffrey Webster and his wife, Kim of South Mills, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany Billeter of Yorktown and Dakota, Dalton and Pippa Webster of Newport News.
A Celebration and Farewell will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at the Fleet Reserve in Yorktown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd. Suite A-102, Newport News, VA or to Bon Secours Hospice (Mary Immaculate Hospital), 2 Bernardine Drive, Newport News, VA 23602.

Jim, our sympathy on the loss of your Mother. We enjoyed the years that we bowled on the Moonlighters League with both of you. She was always a joy to talk to and a fun competitor in bowling. Her talent in handmade dolls and Christmas trees was amazing.
