Herbert WILLIAMS Obituary
Herbert was born in Franklin County, N.C., and was a longtime Hampton and Peninsula resident. Herbert was the son of the late Berry and Annie Williams of Franklin County, N.C.
During World War II, Herbert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be truly missed by all who had an opportunity to know him. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Carl Burt, of Hampton; a brother, Edward Williams of Fayetteville, N.C.; a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen Street, Hampton. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on May 5, 2010. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, Va.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hampton's VA Hospital for their care and support during the period of time Herbert was under their care.

To the family of Herbert Williams, years ago when I lived in hampton
I used to visit Herbert when he stayed at Mary Lees(she has passed)
and then at the Va Hospital with a dear friend of mine Ray Cassidy
(he has passed). I hadn't visited Herbert for a long time. The last
time i went was with Ray's wife Marvene. He seemed like he didn't
recognize us or remember us. We spoke very loudly and he didn't
seem like he heard us but seemed glad to have a visit. I am sorry I
didn't visit more. Our condolences to his family. And we would also
like to add our thanks to the Va hospital for their care of Herbert.
