Herbert BROWN Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Herbert Brown Sr. went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va.
Mr. Brown was a native and lifetime resident of Gloucester, Va. He was a veteran of the Army/Air Force. He was a retiree of Naval Weapon Station in Yorktown, Va. He was born to Louis and Lucy Brown on Jan. 21, 1921.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lovie Lee Brown; two sons, Herbert Jr. (Alice) and Louis (Hortense); one daughter, Lovie Brown all of Gloucester; his brother, Abraham (Helen) of Mathews; his sisters, Nancy Cooke and Elizabeth Taylor (Fred) of Gloucester; daughter-in-law, Betsy of Richmond; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Zion Poplar Baptist Church, Gloucester. Interment in the church cemetery. The viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. The viewing will continue Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
