Herbert ANDERSON Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Herbert Edward Anderson Jr. passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010.
Mr. Anderson was a native of Santa Cruz, Calif., and was a Peninsula resident since 2008. He served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, retiring 1962 after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Sacramento Orient of California.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred J. Anderson.
He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne L. Small and her husband, Ross of Yorktown; and three grandchildren, Ryan Small and his wife, Kristine of Charlotte, N.C., and Galen and Courtney Small both of Newport News; great granddaughter, Zoey.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va., by the Rev. Clara Gestwick.

My heart truly goes out to you Mrs Suzi. I'm so sorry that you're hurting. My heart sank when you told me the news... Ya'll always had a special way of brightening up my day each time you came in. Your Dad was such a sweetheart... always smiling and I know you were the apple of his eye. He will surely be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May God give you and your family the strength to make it throught this terrible time. Many blessings upon you.
