Hershel WILLIAMS Obituary
A native of Commerce, Ga., Mr. Williams was a Vietnam Veteran who made Newport News his home in 1993, when he retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. After retirement, he worked in contractor sales at Lowe's Inc. for several years before becoming disabled.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth A. Williams; his daughter, Sandra D. Zamalis and her husband, Michael of York, Pa.; his son, Dustin L. Williams and his wife, Helen of Newport News; four grandchildren, Jacob, Aleni, Ethan and Lacey; his mother, Doris Williams of Commerce, Ga.; and his sister, Kay Sheridan of Commerce, Ga.
A memorial service will be conducted at a future date in the family home in Denbigh, where they will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Hampton VA Hospital and the Davita Hope Dialysis Center at Mary Immaculate Hospital for their dedication to Mr. Williams during his treatment.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 1742 East Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23228.

I am just taken back. Hershel and I (Henry too) were good buddies back in the early 70's. He attended our wedding (Benny and Marsha Maynard)about 40 years ago. I have often wondered where he was and I am sad to find out now but also am glad that he is with our Lord in heven.
