I have just heard about Hilda's passing. We worked together many years ago at Riverside Hospital. I was shocked and saddened by the news of her death. I still have the lemon flag she made my husband and I when we bought our first home. I cherish that flag and am always reminded that it was created especially for us. My deepest condolences to Hilda's family, of whom she was so proud.

To Hilda's Family and Friends,
So sad to hear that Hilda died last week. I cannot believe that I will not meet up with her again. We worked together at RRMC for many years, and she was such a strong advocate for patient education. She really walked the walk and talked the talk. Everyone loved and appreciated Hilda. I was one of them and feel very blessed to have known her.

To Ozzie, Milly, and Vivian I extend my deepest sympathy. I rember the day your family moved in next to me 39 years ago. She taught Wayne some Spanish as soon as he started talking. Some of the best times of my life was spent laughing with Hilda and Ernie. Hilda was truly God's angel.

I was so shocked and saddened upon hearing the news of the death of my friend, Hilda Vasquez. My sympathies go to the family in their loss. Indeed, it is a loss for all of us who knew this wonderful woman, who with her quiet dignity, humor, and wealth of knowledge touched so many lives. Because of Hilda, I am a Diabetes Educator, and I am so grateful for her friendship. She gave so much of herself, never asking for anything in return. She will be missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Hilda's death. I have known her for 8 years and worked with her as a diabetes educator. She was a tremendous help for me several years ago working with a challenging family that needed education in Spanish. I spent time with her this past August at AADE and will treasure that time in my memory. Her warm smile and genuine kindness will be remembered always. My thoughts and prayers go to her family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Hilda Vazquez as a very special lady, she is known to me as simply grandma and I am not even part of the family. Her love for life and reaching out to others are her legacy. The many talks and the smiles she brought into my life and others are priceless. She cared and loved her family deeply, especially Brandon and William. We all loved this wonderful lady, but GOD loved her more and He beckon her home on Monday, 16 Nov 09 to be with Him. My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to her family. May they find comfort and peace in knowing she has touched countless lives and will be greatly missed?

I had the privilege to work with Hilda for several years from Alaris to Cardinal Health and then Carefusion.
She was an extremely talented, patient, and a hard wroking professional who always had a smile for you when she saw you.
She often took the shifts that nobody else wanted and she did so gladly, a rarity these days.I always knew that when Hilda was assigned to my account that I did not have to worry about the task at hand.
I want to extend my sympathies to Hilda's family.

I was so surprised and saddened to hear about the loss of your mother / grandmother. I had the pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Vazquez when I had the honor of being Brandon's teacher. She knew that I had a soft spot in my heart for grandma's, and I enjoyed our many talks and visits! I loved when she would come to school to check on and see the boys to ensure that they were getting the education they deserved and were capable of. Her hugs always brightened my day. She loved Brandon and William with all her heart, and it was evident in the way she spoke of them and watched them learn. My last memory of her was at the International Festival when she was giving the boys a hard time about not speaking more Spanish! That memory makes me smile. It was an honor to know her and to call her a friend! She was a wonderful woman and the world lost an angel Monday but heaven got her back.

As a lucky person to have worked with this incredibly talented and informed nurse and educator, I was shocked and saddened by the news of her death. She was an inspiration to new nurses to be more than they thought possible and it is because of her, I had the confidence to become a diabetes educator. I would like to send my condolences to Hilda's family, expecially to her children and grandchildren of whom she was so proud. Sending prayers and love.
