Holly PUGH Obituary

CHESAPEAKE - Holly Jean Barlow Pugh, 55, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, after a brave and courageous battle with pharyngeal cancer.
Holly was born in Newport News, Va., and was the daughter of Joseph Augustus "Gus" and Dorothy Jean Walls Barlow of Smithfield, Va. She had been a lifelong resident of the Tidewater area.
In addition to her parents, Holly is survived by her husband of 10 years, Woodrow "Woody" W. Pugh; her sister, Karen Louise Barlow-Reese, and husband, David L. of West Borough, Mass.; niece, Allison Barlow Reese; and nephew, Philip Barlow Reese; her aunt, Catherine Lee Barlow Duncan; cousins, Barbara Alice Barlow- Bucknall (Robert), Patricia Lynn Donaldson (William L.) and their daughters, Kate and Turner, Catherine Lee Barlow, and Judy and Jessie Hodges.
Family and friends will gather in Smithfield Baptist Church, Family Life Center at noon Tuesday, Nov. 2, for a time of sharing remembrances of Holly. A private graveside will take place in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, IOW Relay For Life, c/o Mrs. Pam Jordan, 18214 Farmview Lane, Windsor, VA 23487.

I knew Holly in high school and always thought she was so cool. Can still see her thundering down the basketball court. She was really an awesome person. So sorry to hear of her passing and wanted y'all to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Joanne (Bell) Morris
