Howard RHEUARK Obituary

HAMPTON - Howard Leo Rheuark Sr., son of the late George Malcolm Rheuark and the late Georgia Lily Powell Rheuark, died April 4, 2010.
Born May 14, 1927, in Conway, S.C., he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and then enlisted in the Air Force where he remained until retiring in 1964. Howard then worked in Civil Service at Langley AFB from 1966 until 1982. He was past Master of Army Navy Lodge #306 AF &AM in Hampton.
Howard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah Jane Rheuark; his children, Sylvia Darden and Jim King of Newport News, Nancy and Craig Matt of Delaware, Ohio, Howard and Sharon Rheuark of Hampton, and Susan and George Waters of Hampton; also the "lights of his life" were his grandchildren, Barbara Rheuark Jenkins of Hampton, Philip Matt of Delaware, Ohio, and Steven and Wesley Waters of Hampton. He is also survived by two sisters, Isla Lewis and Bertha Hughes both of Myrtle Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2010, at Parklawn Memorial Park with both military honors and Masonic rites. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Downtown Hampton.
