I had the pleasure of playing golf with Ben and my good friend, and his brother, Tom awhile back. It was one of two occassions that I met Ben and found him to be friendly and enjoyable to be around. I wish I had had another occassion to know him better.

To the Travillian Family - Our deepest sympathy to the entire Travillian Family for your loss. It was a shock when we saw Ben's obituary in the paper. We have known Ben since we had our pool installed by Anchor Pools the summer of 1978. During the entire process he was extremely professional, fair, approachable, thoughtful, courteous, and kind. Over the years when we infrequently needed something from Anchor Pools and during the construction time, we never saw him that he didn't have a smile on his face and acknowledge us like long lost friends. If he ever met you, you were no longer a stranger.

He will be missed by all who knew him from his Anchor Pools business, and I'm sure by all his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult and sad time.

Dear Susan And Family,
I am truly sorry of the passing of Ben. He was a wonderful friend to me for over 19years. Our mourning is natural, Our Rejoicing is Supernatural, but the important reality is; When Christ returns, He will bring the believers who have aleady passed on with him.
While we grieve his loss, surely he is rejoicing and anticipating the day when they will be the first to see the resurrected Christ return for His people. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.Any thing that you need, please don't hesitate to let me know. Susan, you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

To Ben's family ...
I shared a part of Ben's life absent from the comments .. when he was with Wyle Labs and worked at NASA-Langley --before the Pool Co. I also lived in Seaford and saw him occasionally there.
I admired and respected his knowledge, integrity, and drive. Quite a wonderful individual and I have always known that our acquaintance was my very good fortune. Please know that you have company in feeling the loss.

I had the honor of working for Ben for 5 years at Anchor Pools. I still think of everyone there as my extended family. I have so many wonderful memories of Ben, I will always remember him coming in the afternoon with his lunch box and saying “It’s a beautiful day in Tidewater” and our discussions about what we wanted for dinner after work with Steve. I was heartbroken when I heard the news of Bens passing. To Susan, Benny, Steve, Brad and Kristina, my deepest sympathy...

“ Hiiii Beeeean” – I love you and will truly miss you!

Susan,

I was heartbroken to hear this news. Your husband was such a caring, respected man and he leaves behind a community that will miss him greatly. Ben always made me feel like Anchor Pools was a second home, with you all as my second family, during my years as his employee. He had a big heart and an infectious sense of humor.

My deepest condolences during this difficult time, I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Love,
Kristine Bender
