The Guest Book is expired.

WILLIAMSBURG - On Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, our beloved Ida B. James answered the Master's call and went home to be with the Lord, in Colonial Manor. Her life began on June 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Melvina James and late Robert James, of James City County, Va.
At a young age, she joined First Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Va., under the Pastorship of the late Rev. Wales. Later in life, she joined hands in fellowship with Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. She was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. In 1943, she moved to New York and continued her education in night school. She was employed as a nanny and a seamstress. After retiring, she returned to the Williamsburg area; building her home in Springfield Terrace, York County, Va. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She leaves to treasure her blessed memories, her caregivers, Harris and Barbara James; her sister, Grace Prince; her special friends, Ann Minns, Carol and Deacon Willie Thomas, Rosalee Times, Patricia and Preston Tabb, Nancy Troutman and the Triangle Senior Center and a host of many caring friends. A special "Thank You" to the staff of Colonial Manor and The Hospice Community Care of Newport News, Va.
A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 401 Franklin Street, with the Rev. Ventson Robinson, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 105 Canterbury Place by 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. James may be viewed in the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Building Fund or the Hospitality Committee.
