Inez HURST Obituary
Born in Pitt Co., N.C., Inez was the daughter of the late Lizzie Randolph and Charlie Briley. She had lived in Carrollton since 1962.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Walter L. Whitehurst; her daughter, Bobbie Jean Moore Canady; granddaughter, Penny Moore; and great-granddaughter, Krista Moore, Inez is survived by her husband, Wilmoth "JC" Hurst; son, Lawrence Whitehurst of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Carolyn Hughes of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Doris Frances of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marie Brewer of Greenville, N.C. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Marlene Roach, Darrel Hurst, Charles Hurst, and Lisa Gessell; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, followed by a service celebrating Inez's life at 11 a.m., at Smithfield Assembly of God with Pastor Donald R. Watkins and the Rev. Capt. Jason Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park.

Miss Inez was my next door neighbor (1987-2012) on Laurelwood Drive. I remember she & I speaking in my backyard & telling me I needed to get rid of all of this ground moss! I responded that I'd rather have a green back yard than a brown one!

Carolyn,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's death. I have often wondered if you were still in Charleston and how you were doing. Would love to see you again after all these years. I was in Las Vegas at the time and just found out tonight when looking up someone else's death notice that died the day after Thanksgiving. Please write when you get a chance. We have a lot of years to catch up on.

Dear Miss Carolyn (Hughes): I am so, so sorry to hear about Miss Inez. I was absolutely shocked! Here I live right next door and just heard a few days ago. I can't express my condolences enough. I'm just so sadden about her death, but more importantly that I couldn't come see you during this time. Please take care of yourself . . . . .

Aunt Inez was a true lady and she brought much hapiness to me when I was going through troubled times in the 80's. Her smile would light up the room whenever I was in her presence. She always made me feel special when she would give me her special advice on life's ups & downs. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and friends. My prayers and love are with you all.
