Isaac L. BOWLES

Isaac BOWLES Obituary

YORKTOWN - Isaac L. Bowles was born on Jan. 10, 1986, and left us suddenly on Jan. 3, 2011.
Isaac is survived by his father and mother, Terry and Evelyn Bowles; a sister, Laura Katherine Bowles; grandparents, Jack and Virginia Bowles, and grandmothers, Dorothy Ringlesbach and Sarah Salisbury. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, and a host of family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.

You sure have a nice crowd there with you and I´m sure Grandma Bowles had some good stories to tell you when she joined you on Sunday November 3, 2024. It has been so hard not having her with us, but knowing you were there to greet her made it a little more acceptable. I love you all up there, so please keep a close watch on us down here. 2025 is only one day away and it gets harder each year missing you. They say everyone has a twin. Mel & I were at a restaurant in Boca Raton last week and our waiter was "your twin". I kept watching him and smiling. He had your long blonde hair, wore a ball cap, cargo shorts and your "moves". It made me so happy to see you in my presence that we gave him a really big tip! Thanks for being you :) Aunt Connie

I have no idea why this 4th of July was so hard for me... looking at fireworks made me cry. I remembered how excited you would get over the fireworks we would find in Tenn and when you bought the BIG one to take back to VA. Your joy always made me smile and it still does. I love you more than anything and miss you like crazy. Hope the fireworks in Heaven were wonderful!

You were with me on 4/20. I didn't feel like going to Tradewinds but nothing else worked out so that's where we ended up. The band, Last Leg Largos, I told Garen sounded like Sublime which made me think of you. Then they played Pepper which made me think of you and the last CD you gave me. Then two more punk bands played after that. I know you are still with me when things like that happen and I love you for it.

It has almost been a year now, and I still expect you to walk through my door around One O'clock on Sundays for football and to call Witt on Thursdays for Saturday morning fishing. Isaac, so many memories with you and I can't picture one in my head without you having a big huge smile on your face :-). I wouldn't know what you would even look like with a frown. You were such a beautiful person in so many ways and the world is a different place without your smiling face in it. But I will always remember the fun times we had together; you were my first kiss in the 8th grade, sneaking out with friends in the middle of the night in high school, adventuring in the mountains, and rocking out with you at concerts in VA Beach and at Bonnaroo in TN (311, Radiohead, the Wailer's, Damian Marley, Tom Petty, Pepper, Steel Pulse, etc.). I will always fondly remember white water rafting down the New River Gorge, West Virginia, with Isaac. We sat in the front of the boat together for the majority of the trip and had the best time. He had such a great smile. I'm so sorry for your loss - he'll be greatly missed.

Time may heal all wounds but scars will remain. These scars are meant to remind of us of where we have been but don't have to dictate where we are going. Isaac would want everyone to never forget him but live on and embrace the time he was here. Isaac lived more in his short 24 years than most people do in a lifetime! I know with time this gets easier but today that doesn't seem to offer much comfort to those who miss you...when it is more than I feel I can bare I remember all the good times we shared..the trip to Crystal Falls, sitting on the river bank watching that man who looked like he just came from church walk right into the water throw in his fly line and hooking that big trout. you were just as excited as if it were you catching it. I met Isaac through some mutual friends quite a few years ago, and even at that time I realized the positive energy and all around good vibes that he emanated. He was always upbeat, good things happened to him, and you knew if Isaac was coming to chill that things would never be a bust. Isaac really seemed to love life, and to lose someone with such a positive outlook has really made me reevaluate my own. Through all of the pain, I think he'd all want us to be stronger people on the other side, and I'm going to do the best to honor his memory. You won't be forgotten, my friend.

My heart aches so much for your dad, your mom and Laura. You left our family way too early, we were not ready for you to depart our lives. I know you are in good hands with your Heavenly Father and that gives me comfort. Ever since you were able to tell your first "fish story", no matter what size fish, you always said "it was a nice one".
