Jacquelyn CHISMAN Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Jacquelyn Diane Chisman peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, in Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Va.
Her life began on April 7, 1954, the daughter of the late John and Christine Chisman.
Jacquelyn attended the York county Public School System, where she graduated from York High School. She studied nursing at the OHA School of Practical Nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent the latter part of her career at Maxim Health Care as a LPN.
Jacquelyn was always a very gentle, loving and compassionate person, with a heart of gold. When she was not helping others, Jackie enjoyed music and was excited about being a grandmother. At the age of 25 she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Grafton Baptist Church – Harris Grove.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her two daughters, Tameika Chisman and Patrice Chisman of Newport News, Va.; one sister, Vivian Chisman of Yorktown, Va.; three brothers, Stafford Chisman of Norfolk, Va., Richard Chisman (Joyce) of Seaford, Va., Clarence Chisman of Newport News, Va.; one aunt, Ethel Borum of Newport News, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing of the body will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Nicholson-Cummings Funeral Home of Hampton, Va. Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Grafton Baptist Church. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

You can be certain that I am praying a prayer of comfort for the Chisman Family; earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal. The short time that I have known Jackie was all too short, but it was long enough to know that she was a compassionate and caring person. She named me "Plesant" but the name describes just who she really was -- pleasant and friendly. Rest in peace Jackie until we meet again.

"Precious Memories how they linger". My heart is filled with saddness knowing that your mother, sister, aunt and "my dearest" Cousin Jackie will no longer share this walk on earth with us. A thousand memories and a million tears will link our pathway until we meet again. Tameika, Patrice, Viv,Amy, Kim and family find comfort in knowing that our loss is Heaven's gain. God only takes the best and Jackie was truly the best.May the peace of God which passeth all understanding keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.Rest well Jackie until we meet again. Your Cousin Janie

Many condolences to all. Eddie and I have only known Jackie for a relatively short time but it has been a joy knowing her. It was a such a pleasure being her cab driver that we soon became friends. She will be missed.
