James HOWARD Obituary

HAMPTON - James "JB" B. Howard Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010.
He was a resident of Hampton, Va., for 45 years. James retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving his country for 21 years, and was a distinguished Vietnam Veteran. He retired again after nine years of service with the Norfolk Rework center. JB was a dedicated hard worker in his community and owned JB's Heating and Air Conditioning Service.
JB was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and Clem Howard; four brothers, AC Howard, Eddie Lee Howard, Denver Howard and George Howard; and one sister, Rosie Lee Jamison, of Wichita, Kan.
He is survived by his loving son, Minister James B. Howard II; his daughter- in-law, Clarice Howard; grandchildren, Sean Howard and Alexander Howard; former wife, Gloria Howard Downs, all of Hampton, Va.; two brothers, Clemmie J. Howard, Lee Willie Howard, of Wichita, Kan.; his beloved princess of Hampton, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews, brothers- in-law, of Wichita, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo., as well as a host of friends and business peers of Hampton, Va.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the M.E. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, 2117 Madison Ave., Newport News, VA 23607.
Interment will be held at the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full Military Honors.
This service will be shown LIVE via webcast.
