James Cooper Obituary
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Ms. JoAnne R. Cooper of Newport News, Va.; a son, Mr. Fred Taylor (Estella) of Newport News, Va.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Paula M. Cooper Jackson of Newport News, Va., and Mrs. Beatrice Nicole Cooper Witts (Eric) of Hampton, Va.; one grandson, Bobby Taylor of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Alston Anthony of Newport News, Va.; 10 great-grandchildren, Ahsiyah Jackson, Kwame Jackson, Taiquan Jackson, Kapri Witts, Malik Witts, Chantley Hawkins, Diamond Cephas, Danny Hall, Shanile Holloway, and Shawn Hall; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Isabella T. Alston of Newport News, Va.; two nieces, Ms. Carolyn D. Alston and Ms. Janice M. Alston, both of Newport News, Va.; one great-niece, Mrs. Pamela Dail (Frankie) of Greenville, N.C.; a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News. Interment will follow in Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton University section. Viewing will be from 1 to 7p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday.
