James DAVIS Obituary

HAMPTON - James Edward Davis, 83, a longtime and faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, passed away Dec. 22, 2010.
James is retired Army, Fort Eustis, Va., and civil service - Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, Va. James was also a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia M. Davis; daughters, Vernell Brown and her deceased husband, James, Melanie Austin, Regina Davis; sons, Glenn Davis, Napoleon Davis and his wife Mary: sisters, Dorothy Pickens, deceased, Bertha Walker; brothers, Roosevelt Crawford Jr. and Earl Davis; grandchildren, Alesha Brown, Jessica Brown, Napoleon Davis Jr., and his wife, Erica, Keith Austin, Tyrese Davis: great-grandchildren, Brianna Davis, Tamara Davis, Jorden Davis; devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2010, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen Street, Hampton, VA 23669, 723-3308. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2010, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 94 Lincoln Street, Hampton, VA 23669-3507, 723-4065.

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the passing of his saints.
Dear Sis. Georgia,

Arthur and I express our deepest condolences in the loss of our beloved Brother Davis. I remember when we were in the Senior Choir together, and he would say to me " I've been waiting for your call , what time is rehearsal"? This he said with his deep voice. :)
We pray God's choice blessings of comfort, strength and peace upon you and all persons affected by this loss.
