James PRUITT Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Dr. James Henry Pruitt, 82, died and went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, April 17, 2010.
James was a native of Henderson, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1947. He was known as an Evangelist and had pastored Northside Baptist Church in 1970 for a short time. He was currently a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 61 years, Gloria C. Pruitt; his son, James E. 'Skip' Pruitt of Frankfort, W.Va.; one sister, Mildred Wortham of Henderson, N.C.; and one grandson, Evan Lee Pruitt of Roanoke.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church Mission Fund, 221 Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23693.

Skip-Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. From talking with you I know that he was very sick and this was for the best.
