James PRUITT Obituary
James was a native of Henderson, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1947. He was known as an Evangelist and had pastored Northside Baptist Church in 1970 for a short time. He was currently a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 61 years, Gloria C. Pruitt; his son, James E. 'Skip' Pruitt of Frankfort, W.Va.; one sister, Mildred Wortham of Henderson, N.C.; and one grandson, Evan Lee Pruitt of Roanoke.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church Mission Fund, 221 Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23693.

Dear Mrs.Pruitt and Skip, You probally won't remember me; but I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Pruitt. It's so hard to lose someone you love, even though you know they're in heaven, a far better place than us. Our love and prayers are with your family right now. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to you and your family of the loss of my dear friend and Brother in Christ Bro. Pruitt. I loved him dearly. He sure was a great warrior for Christ. Skip-Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. From talking with you I know that he was very sick and this was for the best. We both know how tough it is watching someone go through that as you were a witness to my dads cancer. If you need anything you know I'll always be here for you. Your pal Jimmy S.
