James SANDERS Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Lala Sanders, who bore him three children; two daughters and one son, who resides in Florida; another son, Scorpio Lee Brown of Newport News; and a brother, Ollda Sanders of Chicago. He will be missed by all.
James was affectionately known as "Tree" by those who knew and loved him. He was a boxer and football player. He also was a longshoreman for 30 years. He was a kind, loving, and giving person to those he loved. He was a soldier determined in all he did. He shall always be a part of us. He made his peace and accepted Christ as his savior on Dec. 17, 2009.
Viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Jan. 3, 2010, with funeral services
at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, all at the funeral home chapel.

May the God of Peace comfort the family and friends of James (Brother) Sanders. I grew up with him in Ithaca, New York and he was a lifetime friend and will miss seeing him in downtown Newport News.
