James MORGAN Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - James "Jim" Milton Morgan, 63, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009.
He was born in Mariana, Fla., to James Milton Morgan Sr. and Katherine Burke Morgan, but grew up in Mobile, Ala. ROLL TIDE! He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force in 1987, after over 21 years of honorable service. After which, his love of airplanes led him to a career with Flight International (L3 Communications) in Newport News. He served there faithfully until his illness prevented him from doing what he loved. His grandbabies will never see a plane without thinking – 'that's Papa's plane."
He is survived by his loving wife, Heather; his beloved children, Keith, Mark, Tara Kae, Tara Lynn, Tamara, Gregory, Kristina, Jason, Jamie and Daniel, their spouses; and 20 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Sissy); his brother, Robert (Pooh Bear) and his wife, Paula; his niece and nephew.
He was a private man who did everything and anything for his family and friends as a sign of his love for them. He will be sadly missed by his family and his cat, Sassy. We love you Papa . . . see you in heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Riverside Hospice and his favorite nurse, Jessica Hunter.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Peninsula Memorial Park, by the Rev. Katherine Gray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's memory to Riverside Hospice, 500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Heather and family,

I worked at Flight International for over 15 years and had the pleasure of working with Jim on many projects. I will always remember Jim as one of the best technicians in the company. But most of all, he was always friendly and welcoming when I came to him with a problem, and we could always depend on him. Janet and I will be praying for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be with you and your family as you grieve for your loss. We will miss him and remember him always. God Bless You and Keep You.

Heather,

Our prayers & thoughts will always be with you and your family. I'll always remember and cherish the time that I worked with Jim at Flight International, and how he helped me out on numerous occasions. Jim never had a negative word to say about anyone, and would always be there for you even if you just needed to talk to someone. He would always listen to your concerns, and often times would give you good advice. Jim would always talk about how much he loved you and everyone in his family. Jim was both an outstanding man and friend.

Heather and family,

Please be comforted by the knowledge that we are praying for you all and that we love you. Jim is not here, which means he is sharing the company of God. What better place to be than in the presence of The Almighty One! We will miss our Brother, but rejoice that he is home, whole and healthy.

Love,

Randy and Elizabeth Dame and family

Jim was truly a very special person. He was so very proud of his family. I remember him coming to church just to see his children (grandchildren) participate is special events. We will keep you in our prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you comfort and peace. In the words of the poet John Magee, Jim has truly taken the "HIGH FLIGHT" and "has touched the face of God."

Jim was a great guy. He will be missed by all. I will always remember the time we worked together at Flight International, and all the times I had to call on Jim to bail me out of some fix I got into on a avionics project. I would call on Jim day or night is was a great friend.
