James Collins Obituary

YORKTOWN - James R. Collins, 82, passed Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at his home with his beloved wife Dorothy of 62 years by his side.
Jimmy was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1927 where he was schooled, went into the Army Air Corps where he met his beloved Dorothy Bartron Collins.
After serving his country he went to work for the Newport News Ship building DD and retired as a foreman of the Pipe Fitting Department. He enjoyed his hobby of playing golf which he did very well.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Collins; his two sisters, Katherine and Ruth and their husbands; sister-in-law, Lorraine Vreeland; and brother-in-law, Don Bartron; and also three nieces.
Jimmy had two young men, Steve and Ryan Ansama, that grew up next door that he loved them as if they were his own sons.
Then family wishes to thank all of Jimmy's friends for stopping by to visit, especially those that came by everyday and all of the nurses and aids from Riverside Hospice. When you speak of Angels remember them.
Services will be private.

Dorothy and family we are so sorry for your loss. We know though he is at peace with God and are sure he was also greeted at heavens door by Donna who also had so much love for her Uncle Jimmy and they are once again together.
